Society Elections

WHAT IS A SOCIETY?

Societies are student-run groups that represent a particular area of study. Durham College refers to those areas of study as “schools” and UOIT as “faculties”.

VOTING

Voting is now open for UOIT Engineering Students’ Society. To vote, click here.

To be eligible to vote you:

  • Need to be a current, full-time student
  • Enrolled in the Faculty/School of which your Society represents

KEY DATES

NOMINATION PERIOD | Monday, January 23, 2017 at 9 a.m. – Friday, January 27, 2017 at 3 p.m. 
Nomination packages can be picked up and dropped off from any Tuck Shop location, or the Club & Society Office.

ALL-CANDIDATES MEETING | Friday, January 27 2017 at 5 p.m
Candidates MUST attend the All-Candidates Meeting or send a designate. Students must attend this meeting at any of the following locations: SA Lounge (Whitby Campus), DTA 214 (Downtown Campus), or UA2130 (North Campus).

VOTING PERIOD | : Monday, February 6, 2017 – Friday, February 10, 2017 at 2 p.m. 
Students may only vote for positions within a society that represents the DC school or UOIT faculty they are enrolled in. The official results will be announced to all candidates on Feb 10 by 4 p.m.

All dates are subject to change based on DC/UOIT IT Services ability to host elections.

CANDIDATE ELIGIBILITY

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Candidates can only run for positions within a society that represents the DC school or UOIT faculty they are enrolled in. Candidates must also be a current full-time student. Each position in each society may have specific requirements. Reference your nomination package for more information.

TERM OF OFFICE
Candidates MUST be available to take office May 1, 2017 to April 30, 2018. Further information on time commitments are listed in the nomination package.
