To initiate, encourage and support the academic, social and athletic activities within the Science Faculty. Promote the interests and welfare of the undergraduate body, as well as provide a channel of communication between the faculty and the undergraduate body of the Faculty of Science. Create awareness and interest in Science Programs at UOIT through various community and open house events.
The Forensic Science Society is a sub-society of the Science Council. It hopes to provide all students interested in the field of Forensic Science the opportunity to become actively involved in campus life, plan and participate in events catered to forensic science and allow students the chance to get to know other students interested in the field. Over the years, the topic of forensic science has become an increasingly popular subject and this sub-society allows students with common interests to come together, connect and help make the university experience more enjoyable.
The Health Physics Association enables students to learn more about the newest radiation-based technologies. Providing a forum for exchange with fellow students and faculty members, an opportunity for networking is available for students in the field of Radiation Protection and Health Physics. The Health Physics Association values itself in supporting and enriching the academic programs offered by the Faculty of Energy Systems and Radiation Science. Monthly social events will include talks from professionals working in the field as well as informative workshops on useful programming and writing applicable to the academic and real world.
