DECA is a professional business club that has impacted millions of students, educators, school administrators and business professionals. DECA creates strong connections with a variety of organizations, giving people the opportunity to experience the preparation for being great leaders and entrepreneurs. DECA provides students with the unique opportunity to network with industry professionals from a variety of business sectors. The experiences gained at DECA UOIT will contribute to the development of your personal brand, and thus help prepare you to generate transferable skills and make lasting professional relationships.
To better student academic and extracurricular experience for both UOIT students as well as international exchange students by providing and improving learning and professional opportunities particularly as they relate to exchange, internship and other opportunities available abroad.
The Game Development Society is for students of UOIT or Durham College who are interested in developing and critiquing video games. We hold regular meetings that consist of opportunity announcements, group work progress updates, game design analyses, and resource sharing. We also aim to hold occasional gaming events, such as Game Jams, Pub Nights, and possible industry speakers. Members will be encouraged to show work to their supportive peers to receive constructive critical input.
The Human Resources Association at UOIT serves as an information portal for future HR professionals on campus who are considering Human Resources as a career. It exposes students to the HR functions and workforce by introducing them to networking events, workshops and information sessions. HRA works hard to help answers students questions about HR and help guide them in the direction of a focused and successful HR career.
The UOIT Accounting Association (UOAA) is a student run organization which strives to provide UOIT students many opportunities to become successful! As an association under the Business and IT Society (BITSoc) we are dedicated to serving our accounting students and assist them into entering the accounting profession. As we host professional building workshops, networking sessions, and an annual case competition; we ensure that our members obtain the most benefit from their university experience.
